The Nigerian Education Loan Fund, (NELFUND), has assured stakeholders, partners and the general public that its operations will continue seamlessly as it temporarily adopts a skeletal remote work arrangement due to an ongoing fumigation and sanitation exercise at its office.
In a statement issued by the Director of Strategic Communications, Mrs Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, the Fund said the exercise, scheduled to run from Tuesday, December 23, 2025, until the end of the year, is part of its proactive commitment to maintaining a safe, healthy and compliant working environment for staff and visitors.
According to the statement, minimal staff presence has been approved strictly for essential on-site functions during the period.
The precautionary measure prioritises staff welfare, with particular consideration for pregnant women and women of child-bearing age, who may be more vulnerable to exposure during fumigation processes.
Managing Director of NELFUND, Mr Akintunde Sawyerr, said staff safety remains paramount.
“While the fumigation exercise is necessary, NELFUND has taken deliberate steps to ensure that no employee is unnecessarily exposed to any potential health risk,” he said.
Given its robust digital infrastructure and well-established remote work framework, the Fund said its core operations, including loan processing, stakeholder engagement, internal coordination and service delivery, will continue remotely without disruption.
NELFUND noted that its systems are designed to ensure continuity, efficiency and accountability, irrespective of physical office presence.
The Fund emphasised that the temporary adjustment underscores institutional foresight and responsible governance, demonstrating how technology can be effectively deployed to sustain uninterrupted public service delivery.
NELFUND expressed appreciation for the understanding and cooperation of all stakeholders during the period and reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to delivering transparent, efficient and student-centred education financing services nationwide.
