The FCT Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (CPWB) has successfully conducted a screening exercise for over 250 intending Christian pilgrims bound for the 2025 holy pilgrimage to Israel.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer FCT Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Philip Lucy, which said it was a critical step at ensuring that all prospective pilgrims meet the spiritual, health, and administrative requirements for the sacred journey.

According to the statement, the Director of the FCT CPWB, Gloria Dandam, explained that the screening process verifies the eligibility of applicants, fosters unity, discipline, and moral uprightness among intending pilgrims, and ensures a smooth and fulfilling experience for all participants.

“The screening is to ascertain the health status of intending pilgrims, documents, and faith-based assessments,” she added.

Dandam expressed gratitude to the Hon Minister of FCT, Barr. Nyesom Wike, and the Hon Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, for their unwavering support and for creating an enabling environment for pilgrimage to thrive in FCT.

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, represented by Mr. Femi Adetunji, Head of Special Duties, emphasized the spiritual significance of the pilgrimage and urged pilgrims to represent Nigeria well by abiding by the norms and values of the host country.

Intending pilgrims expressed their excitement and anticipation of a spiritually enriching journey, stating that the pilgrimage will transform them spiritually and reinforce their conviction. “This pilgrimage will transform us spiritually and reinforce our conviction,” said Mrs. Elizabeth Babatunde and Steven Agbo. “What we read in the scriptures will be seen physically, and it will increase our faith.”

The FCT CPWB and NCPC are committed to ensuring a successful and fulfilling experience for all pilgrims. The 2025 pilgrimage promises to be a spiritually enriching journey for those who successfully complete the screening process.
