    Nigeria To Host West Africa Economic Summit 2025

    The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has announced that Nigeria will host the West Africa Economic Summit (WAES) 2025.

    According to the Minister, the summit will take place from June 20 to 21, 2025, at the Abuja International Conference Centre (AICC).

    The summit’s theme is “West Africa Economic Summit: Unlocking Trade and Investment Opportunities in the Region.”

    The summit aims to establish a harmonized trade policy framework, mobilize resources for critical infrastructure, promote inclusive economic growth, and enhance regional economic resilience.

    Expected attendees include Heads of State, Ministers, private sector leaders, development partners, and youth innovators from across West Africa and beyond are expected to attend.

    Summit Components will in involve Presidential A high-level dialogue between Heads of State and business leaders.

    In addition, there will be a platform for Business-to-Government (B2G) and Business-to-Business (B2B) transactions.

    There be a West Africa Business Expo to exhibit over 100 investment-ready SMEs and regional development projects.

    There also be events showcasing the region’s creative energy and youth ingenuity.

    The summit aligns with continental objectives under Agenda 2063 and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), reinforcing Nigeria’s commitment to regional economic integration and cooperation.
