
Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has commissioned a five-road network constructed by the administration of Governor Ahmed Aliyu in the Mabera area of Sokoto South Local Government.
Speaking at the occasion, Senator Yari commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu for executing such a massive project that has a direct impact on the lives of the people of the state.
He noted that road networks play a significant role in the socio-economic development of any society, as they provide access to markets and facilitate the easy movement of goods and services within communities.
“Time without number, I have discussed your transformative initiatives with some of my colleagues. Please keep it up,” Yari said.
The lawmaker also appreciated the fatherly role being played by Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, noting that his guidance has contributed immensely to the successes recorded by the Ahmed Aliyu-led administration in the state.
In his remarks, Governor Ahmed Aliyu expressed confidence that the newly constructed roads in Mabera would make the area more accessible, especially to commercial road users who had previously avoided it due to its dilapidated condition.
According to him, investing in access roads in Mabera will go a long way in easing the movement of goods and services, thereby improving the economic condition of residents.
“This project is a clear testimony to our administration’s unwavering commitment to improving the economy and infrastructure, so as to make the lives of our people more meaningful,” the governor stated.
“We will continue to deploy the entire machinery of government to support the dreams and aspirations of our people in the overall interest of our dear state,” he added.
Governor Aliyu urged the benefiting communities in Mabera to take ownership of the infrastructure by protecting it from any form of vandalism or destruction.
He further thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his economic reforms and tireless efforts to address the myriad security challenges affecting parts of the country. The governor also commended the people of the state for their continued support and prayers for his administration.
In his goodwill message, the Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, represented by the Magajin Rafin Sokoto, Alhaji Lirwanu Bello, commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu for the construction of the road network in Mabera as well as other ongoing projects across the state.
The Ward Head of Mabera, Alhaji Umar Bello, recalled the terrible condition of the area before the present administration’s intervention. He said residents previously had to park their vehicles far from their homes due to the poor state of the roads.
“During the rainy season, the condition of this area became worse, causing motorcycle and tricycle riders to avoid the community entirely. This brought untold hardship to my people,” he said.
He therefore thanked Governor Ahmed Aliyu for coming to the rescue of the people by providing access roads, culverts, and solar-powered streetlights.
Also speaking, Sheikh Abubakar Mabera expressed gratitude to Governor Ahmed Aliyu for transforming and urbanizing the area, which he described as “previously unurbanized.”
During the commissioning ceremony, Governor Ahmed Aliyu was presented with two awards by the Mabera community in appreciation of the various development projects executed in the area.
Sokoto State commissioner for lands and housing, Barrister Nasiru Aliyu Dantsoho said, the present administration has from inception constructed many township roads across the metropolis,adding that mabera is one of the areas that benefited more from such dividends of democracy.
Dantsoho added that, there are a number of completed road projects that are awaiting commissioning,nothing that many more are ongoing.

for executing various people oriented projects across the local area.
Similarly,Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has also commissioned the remodeled Usman bin Affan Jumu’at Mosque Gawon Nama area.
He commended the Governor for giving the mosque a face-lift, which he said would give worshippers the needed comfort.
In his remarks, Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar also commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu for embarking on the renovation of jumuat mosques in the State.
He assured the Sultanate council’s support to the present administration at all times.
The chief imam of the mosque Sheikh Yahuza Shehu Tambuwal later led worshippers to a two rakaat Jumuaat prayer.
