The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) Executive Secretary, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has called on staff to demonstrate renewed dedication to ethics, accountability, transparency, and professionalism as the Commission commences its 2025 Staff Training Workshop.
Declaring the training open at the Army Resort Center, Mambilla and Barracks, Asokoro, Abuja, Bishop Adegbite emphasized that the workshop represents a crucial step towards improving staff capacity, strengthening administrative efficiency, and enhancing the overall service delivery of the Commission.
“The NCPC Corporate Slogan which is ‘Service and Satisfaction’ should be imbibed by every staff and must ensure that they do this with all diligence and Godliness, dedication and devotion,” he said.
The theme of this year’s staff training is “Ethics, Transparency and Accountability in Public Service.” Bishop Adegbite stressed that every staff member needs to be more dedicated, resourceful, pragmatic, and resounding in their output to avoid stagnation.
“If you are not responsible to yourself, you can never be responsible to the organization, because you cannot give what you do not have,” he said.
He further emphasized the importance of teamwork in achieving corporate goals and urged staff to be accountable and avoid any tendency for eye service.
According to the statement signed by the Deputy Director and Head Media and Public Relations, Celestine Toruka stated that Bishop Adegbite commended the lead Consultant of the training programme, Dr. Victor Ivoke, for effective facilitation of the training programme. He acknowledged the fact that Dr. Ivoke’s firm trained the NCPC staff last year and the staff of the Commission were satisfied with the quality of his training.
Earlier, the Director of Administration of the NCPC, Mr. Abu Okpanachi, thanked the Executive Secretary for the confidence reposed in him and for believing in the capacity development of the staff. He assured the NCPC boss that the staff are expecting much from him and pledged the loyalty of the staff in moving the Commission forward.
The two-day training, which brings together staff from all departments of the Commission, features sessions on work ethics, communication, and accountability. It aims to equip participants with the skills necessary to achieve the Commission’s goals for the 2025 Main pilgrimage exercise.
