Okpebholo Approves Payment Of N17m Debt To School Principals

‎Edo State  Governor, Senator  Monday Okpebholo, has approved the payment of over N17 million uniform debt from the previous administration  to the executive principals of senior secondary schools,  Edo State.

‎The approval follows a committee of executive principals from selected government schools visiting the  Senior Secondary Education Board (SSEB)  to appeal for refund of the  sum of over N17 million.

‎The committee, led by Executive Principal of Egor Senior Secondary School, Onaifo Osemwengie, explained that former consultant to the ministry of education, Chinelo Ezeobi under the former administration established a uniform committee on the directives from former Education Commissioner Dr. Joan Oviawe, who later dissolved the committee, and over N17 million remained unpaid to the principals

‎While appreciating the executive principals for their patience, the  Executive  Chairman  of SSEB, Dr. Maureen Ekhoragbon thanked the Governor Okpebholo for approving the payment.

‎She described the Governor as a leader with excellence, transparency, and accountability.

‎The executive principals thanked the  chairman for listening to their plight.
