Gov. Ahmed Aliyu has again reiterated his administration’s determination to end banditry in Sokoto State.

He made the disclosure while declaring open the 9th regular Executive Council meeting at the Main Council Chamber, Government House, Sokoto.

The Governor noted that the present administration has continued to provide the security agencies in the state with the necessary support to enable them curb banditry affecting some local government areas.

“We have equally injected new ideas and strategies that would by Allah’s will, help us end banditry in the state,” he said.

He further stressed that his administration remains committed to fully tackling the menace, which has crippled socio-economic activities in some of the local government areas of the state.

Gov. Aliyu also called for the support of all the well-meaning citizens of the state in the fight against insecurity and other forms of criminality.

On the issue of contracts awarded by the present administration across the state, he charged the Commissioners to ensure regular inspection of the projects under their respective Ministries.

“By so doing, you will be able to assess the quality or otherwise of projects being executed by contractors,” he said.

The Governor warned contractors that his administration will not tolerate low-quality work or unnecessary delays, stressing that standards will not be compromised.

According to him, the people of Sokoto state who massively voted for the APC, deserve quality projects that reflect their mandate.

He reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering determination to deliver more dividends of democracy to all parts of the state.

Gov. Aliyu also expressed gratitude to the people for their continued invaluable support and fervent prayers, urging them to sustain the commendable tempo.
