Nigeria has restarted its commitment to partnering with Pakistan in tackling global challenges.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja, while congratulating Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Dar, on the country’s independence anniversary.

“Nigeria joins in celebrating the shared ideals of freedom, dignity, and mutual respect that form the foundation of relations between our two nations,” Tuggar said. He highlighted the long history of cordial relations and fruitful cooperation between Nigeria and Pakistan, both bilaterally and within multilateral fora such as the Commonwealth of Nations, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the United Nations.

The minister emphasized that the partnership is strengthened by collaboration in education, trade, defence, and cultural exchange, as well as their shared commitment to global peace and sustainable development. “Nigeria reaffirms her dedication to deepening these bonds, exploring new areas of mutual benefit, and working closely with Pakistan to address shared global challenges,” Tuggar stated.

“We value the friendship between our countries and look forward to many more years of productive cooperation,” the minister added, congratulating the government and people of Pakistan and wishing them continued progress, unity, and prosperity.
