    DICAN CONFAB: EU Envoy, Security Experts To Lead High-Level Discussion

    European Union Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Ambassador Gautier Mignot is scheduled to lead the panel session at the Diplomatic Correspondents’ Association of Nigeria (DICAN), conference on July 23, 2025.

    The panel session will have the National Security Adviser, the Director General, National Intelligence Agency, Chief of Defence Staff, Academia and a media expert to discuss Nigeria’s foreign policy strategy and global security challenges.

    The conference with the theme “Nigeria’s 4Ds Foreign Policy Strategy Amidst Global Security Challenges, Strategic Misperceptions, and the Age of Disinformation,” will provide a valuable platform for dialogue and partnership-building for the European Union in its drive to promoting peace, stability, and cooperation in Africa.

    Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, will deliver a keynote address, while Professor Sheriff Ghali Ibrahim of the University of Abuja will serve as a lead discussant.

    The conference seeks to assess Nigeria’s 4Ds foreign policy framework – Democracy, Development, Diaspora, and Demography – and its application in addressing emerging threats and repositioning the country on the global stage.

    Former Presidents, State Governors, Ministers, Present and past lawmakers including Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, Heads of Agencies, over seventy diplomats, academics and strategic stakeholders will be in attendance.
