“This collaborative approach underscores the governor’s recognition of the assembly as partners in the Sokoto State project.

“The relationship between the Executive and the Legislature is very cordial, and it is the same with the judiciary, although their interaction is limited due to their distinct roles,” he said.

The Speaker noted that the three arms of government in Sokoto are married by the constitution to work in harmony for the good of the people.

He attributed the smooth working relationship to Gov. Aliyu’s leadership under adding that the governor has treated the Assembly with utmost respect and considered it as partners in progress.

“The governor, in spite of his enormous powers, consults the assembly and carries it along because he understands that all structure of government are partners in the Sokoto State project,” he said.

Hon. Bodinga said the Sokoto state House of Assembly takes its oversight functions seriously, with a sacred mandate to effectively monitor the executive on behalf of the people.

The speaker commended his colleagues for their dedication to the assignment of representation, lawmaking and oversight stating that they ensured the executive was held accountable.

He attributed the assembly’s success to its leadership’s commitment to inclusiveness, transparency, and accountability.

He emphasized that every member was treated with respect and considered as stakeholders in the state’s development.

“The assembly also engages with the people, seeking their input on bills and listening to their concerns,” he said.

The speaker expressed pride in the Assembly’s work, saying, “We have kept our covenant with the people of Sokoto State.”

He noted that the governor and the people agree that the Assembly has always stood by them and aligned itself with the interest of the state.

According to him, the Sokoto state House of Assembly has maintained its integrity and commitment to the people.

“This collaborative approach between the executive and the legislature has contributed to the success of the Sokoto State project, with the governor’s leadership style and the Assembly’s oversight functions working together to promote the state’s development,” he said.
