    “Never Stop Your Dreams”

The governorn of Sokoto State, Dr. Ahmad Aliyu, has urged children in the state never to lose sight of their dreams about their future.

Speaking in an emotive message to Children on the occasion of the 2025 Children’s Day celebration, Gov. Aliyu said the children represent the future of the state.

He said that children are the “innovators, inventors and peacemakers of the future.”

Governor Aliyu, who had institutionalised tuition-free basic education for every child in the state irrespective of state of origin, promised not to relent in his pursuit of programmes that will uplift education in the state.

He promised to ensure that children in the state have equally access to education, healthcare, safe environment for learning and improved quality of life.

The governor also thanked parents and teachers for the efforts they make in ensuring that children are properly trained to become better citizens.

He said that working together with teachers and parents, the state will ensure improvements in the quality of life of the people and create conducive environment for the moral upbringing of children.

    His letter reads:

“Dear Children of Sokoto State; On this joyful occasion of Children’s Day, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to every child across our beloved state. Today, we celebrate not only your laughter and dreams but also your limitless potential to shape the future of Sokoto, Nigeria, and the world.

“You are the pride of our communities—the shining lights of every home, classroom, and playground. As your Governor, I am deeply committed to ensuring that each child in Sokoto has access to quality education, healthcare, and a safe environment where you can grow, learn, and thrive.

“This year’s celebration reminds us that every child deserves a future full of hope, opportunity, and dignity. Our administration continues to invest in schools, support teachers, and promote child protection policies that uphold your rights and wellbeing.

“To our parents, teachers, and community leaders: thank you for nurturing our children with love, discipline, and wisdom. Together, we must build a society where every child is valued, heard, and empowered.

“Dear children, never stop dreaming. You are the leaders, innovators, and peacemakers of tomorrow. Keep learning, be kind, and believe in yourselves.”
