Vice President Kashim Shettima has lauded the management of Roxettes Motors for its innovative approach towards addressing Nigeria’s transportation and energy challenges.
The Vice President spoke when the Managing Directorand Chief Executive Officer of Roxettes Motors, Dr. Kaycee Orji paid him a courtesy call.
Information from the Media Relations Office of Roxettes Motors said Shettima acknowledged the importance of fostering local businesses to drive economic diversification and sustainable development.
The Vice President expressed keen interest in how these technologies could transform urban mobility and public transportation across the country.
Orji met with Shettima to discuss Green Automotive Innovation and National Development, during which he outlined transformative strategies for Nigeria’s automotive and industrial sectors.
The discussion emphasized the importance of innovation, sustainability, and collaboration in addressing key national challenges.
The meeting served as a platform for exploring new ways to accelerate Nigeria’s transition to cleaner energy, modernize its transportation infrastructure, and create jobs through cutting-edge technology and industrial development.
According to Orji, “Roxettes Motors, a Nigerian leader in automotive innovation, is spearheading the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered automobiles.”
He highlighted the company’s unwavering commitment to reducing carbon emissions while fostering local manufacturing and industrialization.
“Our vision is to position Nigeria as a global leader in renewable energy and sustainable transportation by leveraging local talent and creating innovative solutions that benefit all Nigerians,” Dr. Orji stated during the meeting.
Orji presented Roxettes Motors’ flagship lineup of vehicles, which includes state-of-the-art electric and CNG-powered options.
“These vehicles are designed to reduce the nation’s dependency on fossil fuels, lower emissions, and align with global sustainability trends,” he stated.
The CEO detailed the progress of the company’s projects in Obuaku City, Abia State, where he is building a thriving industrial hub.
Dr. Orji emphasized the company’s commitment to creating thousands of jobs for Nigerians.
“This includes skilled roles in manufacturing, energy, and technology, as well as opportunities for youth through vocational training programs.
“The company also plans to establish an automotive university to serve as a hub for research and education in renewable energy, electric vehicle technology, and other advanced mobility solutions.
“This institution aims to prepare the next generation of Nigerians for leadership roles in the global green technology revolution,” he added.
