Gov. Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has urged Muslims in the state to use the Maulud celebrations and seek Allah’s intervention on the security challenges confronting the nation.

He gave the charge in his Maulud massage to the people of the state.

Gov. Aliyu described the security challenges facing the country today as the major setback to Nigeria’s development, hence the need for all hands to be on the deck.

“No meaningful development takes place where there is no peace, so pay more attention to prayers so that our country could get out of its present predicaments.

“Let us dedicate more time and pray hard as we observe supplications in this festive season,” Aliyu averred.

The governor also appealed to Muslim clerics to educate their followers on the significance of prayers especially in trying moments.

Gov. Aliyu also renewed his administration’s determination to promote and support religious activities in the state.

“Promoting Islamic affairs is one of our 9-point smart agenda, therefore, we’ll accord it the desired attention,” he added.

While the Federal Government declared Monday, the 16th of September 2024 as a public holiday to enable Muslim in the country celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH),

Gov. Aliyu wished the Muslim ummah happy maulud celebrations.
